Our pretzel dough is 100% Vegan!
This traditional savory and slightly robust cheese spread, is placed on biergarten platters throughout southern Germany to accompany everything from light sandwiches, to dark German rye breads to pretzels. It is made with a mix of two thirds ripe Camembert cheese, cream cheese, butter, chopped onion, caraway seeds, herbs, cooked beer (alcohol cooked off) and smoked Hungarian paprika. Classic soft pretzel with all of the time honored requisites of a Bavarian classic. We use a traditional German baker's guild recipe but with vegan, organic o trans fat expeller pressed oil butter replacement. Pure alpine mountain well water, slow acting dry yeast, beer, barley malt and two kinds of King Arthur Flour. To finish, a specially sourced medium grain pretzel salt to top it off adding just the right amount of snap and saltiness. (VEGAN)
Who doesn't like an everything bagel? What's not to like? Savory chopped onion, garlic, sesame seeds, poppy seeds and just a little bit of salt to enhance the aroma and flavor. A great option for those on a lower sodium diet. (VEGAN)
This our version of the Kasebretzel which literally means "cheese pretzel" in German. Typically topped with Gruyere or Comte, this type of pretzel is often seen in the border cantons of Austria, Switzerland and Alsace. We put a combination of New England cheddar and smoked paprika over these when we bake them. A wonderfully aromatic scent wafts from the bakery when we open the oven door to take them out. They taste smoky, earthy and woodsy like a walk in the Black Forest. An absolute must have for cheese lovers!
A local variation of the Kasebretzel made with tangy New England blue cheese and wild chives when in season. A "wildly" delicious one! The chives grow on a sloping mountain terrace just behind our bakery. We just walk out with some snippers and cut the chives fresh.
Our most popular "doughnut inspired" sweet pretzel! A salt pretzel minus the salt with cool maple icing made with local maple syrup and all natural maple extract. The mellow and sweet comforting taste of maple combined with the beery, malty goodness of the pretzel make for a perfect pairing. This is perhaps our second biggest seller after our Classic Salt pretzel. (VEGAN)
Another one of our signature "doughnut pretzels". Using the pretzel as a base instead of sweet dough makes it less of a full on sugar blitz than a doughnut. Created with summer fairs, carnivals and amusement parks in mind, this pretzel is glazed with a luscious vanilla strawberry icing with rich berry flavor. Our signature holiday soft pretzel made with real gingerbread spiced pretzel dough! This is the one that people have been enjoying at our Woodstock Wassail market every winter. We use traditional German gingerbread spices like clove, cinnamon, and ginger and then top the pretzel off with a thin layer of vanilla icing. This is perhaps the only soft pretzel made with real gingerbread spiced pretzel dough-at least that we know of! These are seasonal only, so we only make them for a few months out of the year.
